The International GEO Center held its inaugural event, the first International Quantitative Remote Sensing Summer School from July 5 – 13th 2022, in collaboration with Wuhan University and the University of Hong Kong. The international summer school included talks by speakers from multiple international institutions and was very well-received with more than 5000 total registrations. – predominantly students and young researchers.
Global experts in remote sensing covered a range of topics including satellite data products, remote sensing of fire, agriculture monitoring, land cover and land use change, shortwave radiation and the lidar data. The collaboration between the organizing institutions helped to initiate the virtual International Summer School.
